What's should my home page name be?
Your home page can be named any one of the following:
index.html
index.htm
default.html
default.htm
welcome.html
welcome.htm
home.html
home.html
index.shtml
index.cgi
By default, the server will look for and display the first of these pages it finds when someone simply enters either yourdomain.com or www.yourdomain.com . So if you have a web page called index.html in your main directory as well as a page named home.html, the index.html page is the one which will automatically be displayed by default. Also, your home page MUST use lower case letters, as in the examples above.

How do I use my cgi and perl scripts?
Upload your cgi and perl scripts to your private cgi-bin directory in your domain. A couple things to remember with cgi scripts:
1) upload your scripts as ASCII format (not binary)
2) use your FTP program to change mode on your script to make it executable (chmod 755).

How do I upload files to my web site?
One of the best ways to upload your web pages to the web server is to use an FTP (file transfer protocol) program. For Windows users, the two most popular FTP programs are WS FTP and Cute FTP. For the Macintosh, we suggest Fetch, NetFinder, or Cyberdog. To download free versions of any of these ftp programs.

How do I upload with WS_FTP?
1) Start WSFTP. The window "Windows Configured Sites" comes up.
2) Select New to create your new FTP site where you will upload to.
3) Select FTP site, and type in the name for your site, such as mysite
4) Under host name type in: ftp.yourdomainname
5) Under UserID, type in: your username
6) Under Password, type in: your password (We also suggest you select "remember password") Select Finish.
7) Select "OK" to the window that opens with your site name highlighted. Two windows come up:
A) The window on the left is your computer's hard drive (local system). This is where you will be selecting your web files from to upload.
B) The window on the right is the web server, also called the remote site. This is where you will be uploading your web pages and graphics to.
8) Select and highlight the files in the left window you wish to upload on the left.
By default, web pages and graphics files are uploaded in binary format. If you are uploading a perl or cgi script, select the "ASCII" format at the bottom of the window.
9) Click the arrow which points from the left side to the right side; this uploads your selected web pages to your web site. Now you can view your web pages with your web browser!

How do I send email from "me@mydomain.com"?
If you are using an email program such as Eudora, Microsoft Outlook, Pegasus, Calypso, Netscape Communicator, The Bat, and others, you can change the settings on your email program so mail is sent from you@yourdomain.com (note: you cannot change your mail from or reply to settings on AOL). Here are some general guidelines on changing your email address from, for example, you@att.worldnet.com to you@yourdomain.com
In Eudora Email Program
Select Tools | Options | Sending Mail Under the Return Address section, simply type in you@yourdomain.com Now whenever someone gets mail from you, they see that it came from you@yourdomain.com. If they reply to your email, it will go straight to you@yourdomain.com
In Microsoft Outlook Email Program
Select Tools | Accounts | Mail (tab) Either click the Properties button to edit your existing email address and reply address or click the Add button to add your email information in the email address and reply address.
In Pegasus, Calypso, Netscape, The Bat and others

Look for the section of the email program which asks for your Mail From or Reply To email address. Simply type you@yourdomain.com in this section.

How can I take credit card orders on my site?

How long does it take to set up a new account?
Usually 4 - 6 hours. New domain names and domain transfers normally take 24 hours to propagate through the Internet.

I already have my domain name. How do I transfer it?
Whether your domain was registered at Network Solutions, Register.com, or another domain registration company, we can transfer it. We can update your domain name nameserver information which will then change the location (IP address) of the web server which your domain name points to.
